Side Vase design concept - designed by masons for your stone
In 2005 we looked at the traditional metal flower containers that were located in the base section of a headstone and tried to come up with an alternative design, not to replace the traditional metal vases but to supplement them with a more practical version. Metal vases are typically only 3 inches to 6 inches in depth and come with a metal lid full of holes to fit your flowers. Due to this lack of depth headstone owners were having difficulty with their flowers, having to cut away large amounts of the stalks in order to fit them into their vases and also stop them from toppling out of the base holes in windy conditions.
Our solution was to create a taller vase, similar in capacity to a house vase, but integrated onto the side of the top part of the headstone. We also wanted to make it removable and easy to clean out.
Side Vase design features
The vases have a tall elegant shape and are made out of a durable Nylon material. They have a high gloss black finish to blend in beautifully with black granite headstones. The vases are attached to the side of the stone with a simple double sided tape clip that takes moments to fit and requires no special tools.
Stylish yet practical
At just over 10.5 inches in height our Side Vases have great depth and can hold large amounts of flowers. As a result you will not have to cut away large amounts of flower stalks when placing your flowers and they should also last longer in the vase. Thanks to the vases being placed on the sides, your inscription on the stone is always visible and our special clip system allows quick removal to help with cleaning out your vase and arranging your large floral displays.
Long lasting quality
Our vases are moulded from an expensive special Nylon material which makes them far stronger than typical plastic cemetery flower holders. They are specially constructed to withstand cold temperatures and cracking in frosty conditions.
Some of our local customers are still using their original vases after buying them 19 years ago and having endured countless Scottish winters!
